This is the last Will and Testament of me William Ball of No. 15 Saint Anns Well Road in the City of Nottingham Furniture Remover I appoint my dear wife Esther Ball and Henry Arthur Goodall of Poultry Arcade in the City of Nottingham Solicitor (hereinafter called my trustees) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will I give to my trustees the furniture vans horses carts plant machinery fixtures utensils stock book debts goodwill and effects which may at the time of my decease be used in or connected with my businesses of a Furniture Remover and Furniture Dealer Upon trust as soon as they conveniently can after my decease to sell the same either by public auction or by private contract and either as a going concern or otherwise as they shall in their absolute discretion think fit and to stand possessed of the monies reduced by such sale Upon trust for my said wife absolutely I devise and bequeath all my personal estate not hereby otherwise disposed of and also all my real estate (if any) to my said wife absolutely And in the event of my mother Priscilla now the wife of John Henry Bell at any time after my decease being left a widow and unprovided for it is my desire that my said wife shall assist her in the best manner that she can but I declare that the foregoing shall not impose a legal obligation on my said wife so to do nor create a trust in favour of my said mother and I declare that my trustee the said Henry Arthur Goodall shall notwithstanding this acceptance of the trusteeship be allowed all professional and other charges for his time and trouble which if employed as a Solicitor to my trustees not being himself a trustee he would be entitled to make And lastly I revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions made by me In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this sixth day of April One thousand nine hundred and three.

estate which his her or their parent would have taken had he or she
attained a vested interest therein
6. THE statutory power of maintenance shall be exercisable by my
Trustees free from any obligation to apply a proportionate part
only of income where other income is applicable for maintenance
purposes And the statutory power of advancement shall be
exercisable free from the provisions restricting the amount which
can be advanced to any person out of his or her presumptive or
vested share or interest
7. MONEY liable to be invested hereunder may be applied or
invested in the purchase or at interest upon security of such
investments or property of any kind (including the purchase whether
solely or jointly with any person of a freehold or leasehold
dwellinghouse for use as a residence) and whether involving
liabilities or not upon such personal credit with or without
security as my Trustees shall in their absolute discretion think
fit to the intent that my Trustees shall have the same powers in
all respects as if they were absolute beneficial owners
8. ANY person living at my death who does not survive me by at
least one calendar month shall be deemed to have predeceased me for
the purpose of ascertaining the devolution of my estate
9. ANY Trustee or other person engaged in any profession or
business may be so employed or act and shall be entitled to charge
and be paid all professional or other charges for any business or
act done by him or his firm in connection with the trusts hereof
including acts which a trustee could have done personally
